I was born and raised in Guanajuato, Mexico but moved and started school in the United States in the 6th grade. I struggled to adapt to the change in culture and language and as a result I experienced low grades that affected my confidence. That is when I decided I wanted to become a teacher that could change students' lives for the better and inspire them, especially those in the same circumstances as I was.
Teaching has given me so many beautiful memories and strong skills. I got to teach biomedicine, science, biology, environmental systems, and math. I was also given the opportunity to sponsor HOSA-Future Health Professionals and National Honor Society. During this time, I was able to become an effective communicator and a critical thinker. In addition, I gained patience, creativity, organization skills, and technical skills. Most importantly, I also gained empathy. I was able to connect with my students but at the same time keep high standards for each and every one of them.
Now, moving on to my new adventure, UI/UX design. I wanted to study UI/UX design because I loved the idea of mixing teaching with the ability to design amazing products. I want to design products that can make a difference in the life of the user and then see it come to life (Isn’t that awesome?!). I was also attracted to the idea of working and learning from different people that will help me grow and reach my full potential as a designer.
